What's Bugging Your Lawn?

A thick, healthy lawn is the best defense against damaging pests and diseases. But even a perfect lawn can suffer from an invasion of insects like white grubs, chinch bugs or ants.  These critters can ruin your lawn investment if left uncontrolled.

WHITE GRUBS are likely present if wilted or brown patches appear when other areas of the lawn remain healthy. these patches can likely be pulled away by hand, as grubs will have eaten the root system. Skunks or raccoons may also pull up these patches overnight.
CHINCH BUGS can also cause the lawn to turn brown in summer, but the grass won’t pull away in handfuls. These 4mm/ 1/8 in long insects pierce the stem at ground level and remove sap.
ANTS can be a problem in the lawn, especially in sandy soils, even though they don’t eat the grass. Their nests can drain a lawn too well, and leave unsightly mounds that dull mower blades.

Fortunately, there’s an easy way to control these and other insects while you feed the lawn. Just apply Golden Vigoro Lawn Fertilizer with Insect Control to the lawn, then water in thoroughly afterward. Complete directions are on the bag label... just be sure to follow them carefully, and your investment in “the perfect lawn” will be well protected.
