Fertilizing Your Lawn

Effective

From years of experience in the turf industry, the horticultural experts at Vigoro have formulated Golden Vigoro into a well balanced source of nutrients for maximum benefit to the home lawn. The nitrogen is supplied through slowly available sources to eliminate growth surges after application, reduce the risk of fertilizer burn and most importantly to spread the greening effect over a longer period of time. The nitrogen will be slowly and consistently available to the grass for 3 months! Along with the nitrogen, Golden Vigoro contains phosphorous, potassium, sulfur and iron in the perfect balance for the needs of the lawn.

Environmentally Friendly

YES fertilizers can be environmentally friendly... and they don't necessarily have to be 100% organic. Fertilizers from any source have a profound effect on the environment... the plants, the soil, the water and the animal life which come into contact with the nutrients. An environmentally friendly fertilizer minimizes the effect on the "non-target" areas (such as round water, soil micro-organism) and maximizes the growth potential of the desirable plants (in this case your lawn).

Nitrogen is the plant nutrient of greatest concern when talking about "environmentally friendly" or "effect to non-target areas". Too much available nitrogen will simply affect too many aspects in the environment. Golden Vigoro uses a nitrogen source called IBDU (isobutyldenediurea) which is well recognized as the most efficient source of controlled release nitrogen available today. The "salt index" ( a measure of a nutrients potential to burn) of IBDU is lower than natural organic nitrogen sources!!! As a matter of interest, IBDU can be used as fish and Vigoro makes Pond Tablets for Water Gardens which benefit both the plants and the fish! Golden Vigoro employs a balance of nutrient sources which are ideal for the home lawn. The nitrogen mix will spoon feed the lawn for 12 weeks... evenly, reliably and without harming the environment surrounding the lawn.

User Friendly:

Golden Vigoro is easy to use. One 9kg (20lb) bag covers 400 sq.m (4500 sq.ft). This is a lawn approximately 20 paces by 20 paces or 15 paces by 25 paces. On average this is all you will need for one application. If you have a larger area, Golden Vigoro is available in 18g bags. The bags are made from high quality polyethylene with a strong handle for easy carrying. The seals are firm to eliminate packages bursting and leaking fertilizer from the bottom or sides. the instructions are pre-printed on the bags... they will not fade or peel off. the instructions include: how to determine the size of your lawn, which spreader setting to use, how to determine how much fertilizer you will need, and who to call if you have a problem or question.
