The Unhyphenated Canadian

Welcome to the musings of a Canadian citizen reflecting on life unfolding in Ontario and the rest of Canada.

My name is Joseph (Joe) Molnar, my home is in Woodstock Ontario, Canada.
My wife and I (self employed) publish a Real Estate Guide from our home office. We provide a print advertising medium ( of properties for sale) for the Stratford, St. Marys, Mitchell, Seaforth, Ingersoll, Woodstock Ontario area real estate brokers.
We are self taught in the computer composition of the paper, having started 9 years ago at age 58 when we literally didn't know how to turn the computers on.
The advent of the internet has given humans the chance to have access to untold numbers readers (should they care to read). I have been on line since June of 1996.
Why am I bothering to write?
Even though Canada is touted to be the best country in which to live, I personally have the sense that we are losing our freedom progressively as the result of a number of things.
I believe in equality of citizens, the right to defend one's self, the right to express one's thoughts, the right to own property and to trade freely the fruit of one's achievement and labour, the right to free choice whether it be health care or television programming among other things and the freedom from the state appropriating by excessive taxation and redistribution.

Sadly, in Canada, we have a liberal, interventionist Supreme Court who are literally eternalizing our country into a socialist state by virtue of the Canadian Charter as they see fit to interpret it.
Along with the current intrusive socialist federal government we also unfortunately have a largely liberal left leaning lot of TV, print and radio communicants. What they cheer as benevolence, I weep for as intrusion.
