| COURSE OVERVIEW | The open water course is your entrance into a new and wonderful experience which you will be able to participate in and enjoy for many years to come. Contrary to popular belief, diving is not a difficult sport and does not require an athletic build or a great deal of physical strength. Even those people who are physically challenged often make successful divers. If you can meet a minimum level of comfort and skill in the water, you too can join the growing numbers of divers who are able to experience the adventure of exploring the largest realm on our planet. |
| ACADEMIC TRAINING | In your classroom training you will participate in a stimulating, well planned learning experience which has helped to make PADI the world leader in diver training. Your Open Water Diver book, a dynamic new live action video and your instructor team up to make learning as easy as possible. |
| CONFINED WATER TRAINING | This phase of your training is conducted in a swimming pool under the supervision of a friendly professional instructor. Here in a safe comfortable environment you will learn and practice the skills necessary for you to dive in open water conditions. Since all courses are based on performance requirements, not time allocation, your instructor will coach you until you can demonstrate each skill successfully. |
| OPEN WATER TRAINING | In order for you to become a certified diver, you must demonstrate your diving skills in a open water environment with an instructor. There are several options available for this phase of your training. You may elect to include yourself in one of our open water weekends throughout the summer months or you may participate in our travel program and be certified by one of our instructors while on vacation. |
